 The Program Director is Susan Michels.  She has worked for Northshore Area Partners since April 2007.  Ms. Michels comes to Northshore Area Partners with experience as the therapeutic specialist for the Alzheimer’s unit at Augustana Nursing Home in Minneapolis and as a psychiatric case manager for Ramsey County through Mental Health Resources in Saint Paul.  Most recently she was a business owner and manager on the North Shore.  She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and movement therapy and is currently working on her Masters in Organizational Management.



The Volunteer Coordinator is Chuckie Knudson.  She is recognized by many in the North Shore Area for her years as coordinator for the Senior Citizen Chore Program that was County funded.  She also served as a Board Member for the Lake County Social Service Board and on the Sunrise Nursing Home Board.  Her work, life and volunteer experience make her an asset for Northshore Area Partners.  She enjoys gardening, travel, and church activities in her spare time.  She is responsible to organize, implement, monitor and evaluate all volunteer activities associated with the Program.  Under the Program Director’s supervision, she visits participants and potential participants.  Ms. Knudson is compassionate, good natured and tenacious—essential qualities to someone balancing the needs of elders and volunteers.


The Caregiver consultant is Tina Wall. Tina comes to Northshore Area Partners with a Masters Degree in Counseling from The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and has extensive research experience.  Tina will also be heading the Family Memory Care Initiative, a research project for those caring for loved ones with memory loss in the Northshore Area Partners.





 Ora Lind is the Service Coordinator. For many years Ora worked for St. Louis County Social Services. She worked with young families on improving parenting skills and coping with the stresses of poverty, teamed with a probation officer working with teens involved in the juvenile justice system, and the last ten years with Senior Adult Services.  Ora will be in charge of the Frozen Meals on Wheels and the First Call Emergency Phones, as well as, teach a class series on Matter of Balance.
